They think themselves gods

But we have killed gods before.

They think themselves to be master without mercy.
They think themselves to be virtuous without empathy.
They presume to decide the future without truth.
They presume to own the stars
        without the collective kindness to survive the long dark in between them.
They presume to harvest your hate against mine to rule us both.

Today, I will kill gods,
though it will take a century for it to take.

Today, I will kill gods
like all gods are killed
