Do not put fine-ground coffee in French press. It clogs the pores for water to pass through.
Water does not compress. Do not simply just push on the lid in the expectation that pressure will change things.
Do not leave electronics on kitchen counter while experimenting with the hydraulics of scalding hot coffee.
Do not—under any circumstances—do any of this naked.
