A dance simply

You carry my held breath within your patient embrace beyond
polite custom, until the despair
drains out of it, washed by a gentle rain, as we defy
the usual lies
of apathy and of mere consolation, and make something
of our fragile selves into an extraordinary
blossom of movement and sweat, breathing forth a world
of fierce beauty that simply
and effortlessly lights a long lost path of kindness.
