I listen to the literal dielectric of the air changing with the rain as I dance in the downpour with earbuds, the range of which depends on the amount of droplets between me and my strained laptop, doing its best to maintain a signal as I tumble outside to the part-music part-static garble — as if the rain wants to say: “let go; I have better music for you than those familiars you hide behind; listen to me instead, and you may even hear yourself”.
