Cloud storage

Clouds are where our dreams are stored.
To see them from above is the unimaginable glimpse
into the collective yearning of humankind.
Which is apparently why everyone keeps their windows shut
and stare into their phones while flying,
lost instead in another kind of cloud
made of cold steel and uncaring silicone,
full of reproducible and well-backep-up mediocrity
of our already written and consumed pasts,
instead of the dreamy vistas
    of ephemeral,
        yet neverending,
            everchanging,
                neverlasting,
                    unfathomable, as beauty always is,
                        yet reliable as a hug,
                            clouds.
